In Bremen, in the international conference „Use of Integrated Satellite Technologies in Economic Development” one of the largest satellite manufacturers in Europe OHB System AG presented development plans of thr automatic identification system (AIS) for ship traffic.
During the last month several new companies have started working in the Business Incubator.
Dana Reziniece, board member of Ventspils High Technology Park, from July 7 to 11 participated in Cluster Management Training that was arranged by Barcelona Business School. 25 top-level managers from different countries of the world in this week-long training learned about principles of cluster strategy development, as well as cluster financing mechanisms and methods for promoting partner collaboration.

On June 13 were unveiled the renovated premises of the Department of Engineering Sciences of Ventspils University College (VUC) and the Business Incubator (BI) of the Foundation Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP).
On June 3 this year two new companies - SIA IG Ventspils and SIA Baltic Furniture Service – concluded an agreement with the foundation Ventspils High Technology Park (VHTP) on starting their activities in the Business Incubator (BI) of the VHTP and on allocating the state support.

The foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP) takes part in the international project “Intellectual Property Exploitation Agents”, which is financed by the European Union program “Leonardo da Vinci”. The beginning of the project was in 2006, and it is scheduled to finish it in 2008.

In June SIA HBSI Production, a Latvian subsidiary company of Norwegian enterprise Heimdal Byggsystem International AS, that is engaged in manufacturing modules for building of dwelling houses will start operating in Ventspils.
On March 4 this year was held a meeting of the Support allocation commission (with a repeated meeting on March 13 for assessment of individual applications) on granting de minimis state support to companies of the Business Incubator (BI). The state support was allocated to the following companies: SIA SKINS.LV, SIA Ventspils Informātikas un Elektronikas pakalpojumi, SIA Dynamic Research, SIA Hansa Internets, SIA AudioGids”, SIA SensoTech and SIA Informatics.
By the 4th of March, 2008, new company “SKINS.LV” Ltd. starts its activities in Business Incubator (BI) of Foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP).
„Hansa Internets” Ltd. is one of nine companies of Business Incubator (BI) of Foundation „Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP) that uses opportunities of BI and follows the development plan of company successfully.
On January, this year application on co-financing of Business Incubator (BI) was arranged in order to attract capital for the development of business.
By the 1st of February, 2008, new company „SensoTech” Ltd. starts its activities in Business Incubator (BI) of Foundation „Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP).

On December 10, 2007 foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP) held founders’ meeting in order to elect the board and advisory council of VHTP for the next three years.
Since November of 2007 „Energo” Ltd. has entered Technology Park in Kaiju Street 9, Ventspils. The company has office premises In Technology Park for management that works on project for construction of cogeneration station in Ventspils.
On November 20, 2007 Business Incubator of foundation “Ventspils High Technology Park” decided to admit “Informatics” Ltd.

From July 2, 2007, the job in the position of Ventspils Business Incubator head starts Salvis Roga. S. Roga is the graduate of Ventspils University College Masters Management Programme. In addition he had studied business in Germany. S. Roga has a good command of five languages, including German, English, Lithuanian, and Russian languages. The prior working places are German Capital Enterprise SIA Froli Baltic and before that SIA Sumata.
From June 8 the Business Incubator’s enterprise SIA „Audio Guide” has begun to provide interactive telephony services in Ventspils, setting the informative plates with indication “Audio Guide“ near the number of city sightseeing objects.
The establishment of May 18th, 2007 „Ventspils High Technology Park” (VHTP) organized an event „The Contact Exchange of Business Ideas”. The aim of the event is to stimulate the cooperation between the enterprises of VentspilsTechnologyPark, new enterprises of the Incubator, VentspilsUniversityCollege and VHTP, to identify new development projects, mutual business ideas and directions. In the future it is planned to organize such events regularly.
The project application “Space and Security Technology for the Development of Sea Region/„SMARTRegions”, prepared by German and Latvian partners, is submitted for the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The enterprise Ventspils Elektronikas Fabrika has started manufacturing in the newly opened factory in Ventspils. In the new production unit, 1.3 m lats were invested, and an advanced assembly line was installed.

The first incubated enterprise Ventspils Elektronikas fabrika Ltd successfully left Ventspils Business Incubator in April 2007.
The project “Ventspils Business Incubator – the Support Centre for Innovative Enterprises” is approved in the Innovation centres and business incubators development programme. The project was elaborated by Ventspils University College and the foundation Ventspils High Technology Park.
In the second half of 2006 and in the beginning of 2007, Ventspils High Technology Park with the financial support of European Social Fund accomplished the project "The Reasearch On Manufacturing Industry Labour Market And Development Of Recommendations For Increasing The Number Of Specialists In Ventspils".
