At the end of January, the representatives from the foundation Ventspils High Technology Park and from Ventspils University College went to Tartu University in order to discuss visits of Ventspils students and researchers in Estonia and visits of Tartu students and researchers in Latvia.

Already in May the students and researchers from Ventspils will take part in international conference „Space Downstream Services 2010” in Tallinn, organized by Tartu Observatory and European largest space technology enterprise EADS Astrium, and there will also participate representatives from European Space Agency. In addition to this large scale event, there will also be held lectures on Estonian students' work on the small satellite ESTCUBE, which is scheduled for launch in open space on 2012, and there will also be discussed other issues related to development of space technologies.

In August this year, a group of students and researchers from Tartu plans to visit Ventspils within framework of the Summer School in order to see Ventspils University College, Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre and VHTP. Thus the Estonian guests will have a chance to get acquainted with infrastructure of the space technology field in Latvia.

Mutual visits of the youth and scientific staff from Ventspils and Tartu is one of the activities of the project Cooperation between Ventspils and Tartu in Research and Education on Space Technologies and their aim is to grant access to infrastructure of the space technology field.
